Brain Dump Time
I titled this story as a “brain dump” because it is currently 2:13 AM and I am wide awake and need to write; here goes nothing…
Life is full of so many lessons that are meant to teach you something, but the sad part is we don’t always see the lesson in front of us so we continue to make the same mistakes. I will not front here, I am totally guilty of failing to see the lessons in front me and continuing toxic behavior. I just feel as if it really does take a few times getting knocked on your ass in order to start noticing the lessons being presented to you by the universe.
This next topic has no connection to the previous, but this is a brain dump that has no rules. Music is probably one of my favorite things in the world, and it’s R&B/Hip-hop that really tickles my fancy. There is something about the smooth and lyrical sounds of R&B/Hip-hop that puts me in the right mood every time. Artists these days (H.E.R., Saweetie, Flo Milli, Kehlani, Jhene Aiko, Mulatto, Jazmine Sullivan, SZA, etc…) all have a special flavor that makes them different and special. All of the artists I named are women and I think that is a really great thing. Women are all over the music industry these days and it makes me infinitely happy to see strong women taking control of modern music. R&B/Hip-hop has been blessed by female artists for years, but this new, sleek, lyrical, tough, and incredible group of artists that presides today is absolutely game changing. Music today has taken on a brand new, feminine, powerful energy that is just continuing to blossom into something amazing.
Last thing for this brain dump: TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FIRST!
Nothing in your world will be right unless you put yourself first above all others and tasks. I have been learning that if you don’t feel 100% then you will not perform the way you know can in your life. I am also learning quickly that life will slip past you in a flash so it is important to seize the day every day. There is no perfect time to start anything so lets just start chasing our goals and dreams now. BOSS STATUS ACTIVATED!!!!!!!
